Your help will be appreciated if you help understand a concept -- "carbon sequestration." (I am neither an ecology specialist nor a native English speaker, but I've read some info about carbon seq. on the Web.) Well, I am trying to figure out the meaning of the phrase "[in the countries with high rates of carbon emission from land use] 1.5 acres of forest land could be worth as much as USD 25,000 in terms of carbon sequestration at a carbon price of USD 35-50."
Q's:
1. What exactly will be done to this land, if it is to be used for carbon sequestration? Does it mean it will be forested and thus supplied with a "carbon sink"?
2. "at a carbon price of USD 35-50" - per what? What are the measurement units here?
Thanks a lot!
