Sometimes, I really do wonder why I like the Disney Company. I really, really do.
I mean, they're not special! Half the time, they're not even that good!! The majority of their live-action movies are pretty terrible for the most part, they haven't made a good animated film in ages without the involvement of Pixar (though there were some very good parts to 'Bolt' and 'Meet the Robinsons', and 'Treasure Planet' is just awesome, no matter what the box office ended up saying), and...well, they're just MEAN.
They don't treat kids like equals or give them any respect, they dumb down EVERYTHING for them, editing and not even RELEASING certain things for fear of getting the PC Police on their asses (I'm looking at you, 'Song of the South'. D: Really, just slap a 'this was made in a different era' warning on the thing and it'll probably be ok, JEEZ.)
Disney does stupid shit. ALL. THE. TIME. And NOW, they buy Marvel Entertainment...
WHY.
So they can have something for the boys like they have their ridiculous 'Princess' line for the girls? DEAR. LORD.
Marvel doesn't tone their stuff down for kids. It's real, as real as a comic company can get, and they let DISNEY buy them?
What're they gonna do, try to kiddify Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men? Stamp a happy sticker on the tragic backstories of people like Spider-man and Daredevil?
