Baby is here!
Caroline Grace was born at 12:17am on December 1. She was determined to be a December baby. I was 41 weeks 1 day along at that point and so ready! No pictures online yet. Haven't gotten around to it. She looks a lot like her big sister! My birth was not what I wanted, but sometimes stuff happens that is out of your control. I tried very hard to get my VBAC, but ended with another cesarean due to fetal distress. Her heartrate was very erratic while I was pushing and it was scary, so my OB wanted to go ahead and get her out. Luckily we got her in time because she was perfect and didn't need any time in the nursery. I'm sad about the cesarean, but really happy that I got to labor on my own and got all the way to pushing. I went into labor spontaneously, so Caroline chose her birthday. That was very important to me. My labor was a full 21 hours before she was born.
I'm doing good now. She is a very mellow baby, so we have all be getting a decent amount of sleep. I'm having a little bit of nursing trouble, but not too bad. Just some nipple soreness because I'm having a hard time getting her latch right. All of that will work itself out in time.
