Exhaustedddddddd. Spent the entire day steam cleaning most of the apartment and figuring out what in God's name was clogging my vacuum. Turns out it was cat hair. Lots and lots of cat hair. Only took me 40minutes, a trip to the hardware store (for a screw driver to take off the part that was clogged in order to unclog it. Seriously, who designed this thing?), and much poking with a wire hanger to fix it. Now it works like a dream.
Also in good news I finally got back my state tax refund. This thing was such a headache to get through since I don't have a Colorado driver's license (my Florida one expires in August so I'm waiting until then to replace it) and I'm a first year resident. But! To make things all better they direct deposited it AND I got back more than I expected. Only about $20 more but it was a nice surprise to see. I also qualified for an energy assistance program out here to help with my enormous electric bill. The electricity is God awful expensive and the stupid electric department charges an extra $20 dollars availability fee or some bullshit. To top that off they require a $200 deposit when you first sign up with them. You get it back a year later if you make all your payments on time, which I have made doubly sure to do. I'll be getting that $200 back next month.
However when I applied for food assistance they told me I made too much.

I make $8.00 an hour. How in God's name do I make too much? I've been pretty consistently working two jobs since I've been out here and I'm still pretty darn broke. If I sat around and only worked one job or didn't try to work as much as I do, I could get food assistance but because I do put in the extra effort to try and make my life better I get denied. They did at least give me a one time payment of $53 and told me I could come back and reapply once my rafting job ends in September and I'm back to only working at the restaurant.

I want to move to a bigger city and find a better paying job. I'm tired of working so much and not being able to get ahead just because I get paid so little.

Only have my ears pierced.
