I just had to rush over to my apartment at 1 in the morning because my landlord had called several hours earlier and left me a message saying that neighbors were concerned about what was going on in my apartment and had actually called him about it, and that he had stopped by but nobody answered the door.
I was more concerned about my cats than anything and THANKFULLY they are fine and everything in the apartment is relatively unscathed. The only disturbance I saw was a bunch of stuff knocked over in the shower and someone had tried to access my computer (its password protected).
I am still...pretty pissed about this though. I told my roommate when he moved in there was to be no partying in my apartment. It's the apartment managers rule, not mine. I was gone for a day and a half over at the guy I am seeing place's and in that day in a half my roommate manages to get the neighbors concerned enough they call the landlord. Not only that but he turned the heat up to NINETY in his room and seventy in our living room. The electricity here is so godawful expensive I've been very, very careful about using the heat and have pretty much been dealing without it, and been warning my roommate not to use it. He can barely afford rent and the cable (which I have been giving him a break on) and instead of listening to me he immediately turns around when I am not around and it's now going to cost us a boat load when he especially cannot afford it. He still owes me $21 for the rent. And not only that but instead of trying to save his money he went out to Wal-Mart and put a PS3 and a TV on lay away and then told me he was going to be late on the rent next month because he had to pay for those. I said nothing at the time because, hell, I've been late on the rent before too and my landlord is generally pretty cool about it. However after this I think I am going to have a long talk with him about personal responsibility and if he's going to be so flippant about money than I am not going to be nearly as kind and lenient as I have been.
I'm not interested in baby sitting, especially not a grown man who should know better.
