I probably didn't mention it yet, but I got a job!
I'm a Real Estate Contract Abstraction Specialist with élan Data Makers. I've been in intense training all week. I now know more about Real Estate Contracts (ie. Leases) than most people ever do.
This afternoon I practiced the shawm in preparation for May Bardic. It was no problem. I plan to play 'El Marchese di Saluzzo' an Italian pop tune from the early 16th century. It's a saltarello.
I also found the list of nominees for the Webby Awards. Through it I discovered
www.engrish.com. I seriously cannot remember the last time I laughed uncontrollably. Is it morally wrong to laugh at bad english?
I also discovered
www.whitehouse.org. Is it just me or is there a lot of satire going on in the states right now? Historically, haven't the Americans have always gone more for parody and left satire to the British? Anyway... in addition to
www.whitehouse.org, there's
www.georgebush.org,
www.landoverbaptist.org, and, of course,
www.theonion.com. And I haven't even been searching. I don't suppose it's a coincidence that all these sites are written by people who dislike Republicans, Christian fundamentalists, and the current American Administration.
