Partly Confidential
I started my position at Canon this week. And as expected, I am extremely happy with my new position. The environment is incredible and very exciting. I'm being trained in product control before having my other responsibilities introduced. I'd speak more about it but I actually can't since a large part of my job is strictly confidential. A nice little perk of marketing is that I get access to all sorts of fun promotional items. Better still is that the company consists of American and Japanese staff... So I actually get a chance to use my limited knowledge of the Japanese language to interpret conversations. And my department has great names like Ryu, Gu, Kobayashi, and Nagase. =)
In other news, I am fairly pleased with my change of design for my Christmas project. Now I just need to find some time to dedicate towards it. At least I have a decent percent of my cards written and most of my gifts wrapped. I have a bunch of my custom ringtones made and loaded but I still have many more to do. It amazes me how bad most professional ringtones are.
And lastly, I've made a nice amount of progress into Disgaea 2. At this point, I would say it's a good addition to the series but certainly not better than the original. The additional game mechanics are clever and I'm glad they kept the majority of the battle system the same. The music is partially remixed music from the original along with a set of new tracks. The remixed Etna theme is easily my favorite along with Sinful Rose, the opening theme. I will say the opening movie is pretty awesome and worth a watch. You can find it on YouTube if you're interested. Spoiler warning though since the first five seconds contain a crucial element from the ending of the first game.
And lastly, I picked up Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin along with the free pre-order collector's box. It came with an artbook, Castlevania stylus, DS game case, timeline, and soundtrack of remixed music from throughout the Castlevania series. With the lack of cool pre-order gifts these days, this was a nice touch. Especially the red wax seal box. =)
