It's been over a year since a I started to playing FFXI. I helped newbies even though I was a newbie myself. Well today I was leveling in Yuh...the frickin' jungle near Kazham. Well, arrived at the zone line. A Mithra with a familiar name, Seraphane, examines me and sends a tell complimenting on my Sea Lab 2021 bazaar comment. Got the group set up but got unnecessary aggro. Most of us died, including myself. Seraphane comes up a raises me and sends me a tell, "Have you been playing for a year and 2 months?" I was thinking, that is out of the blue. I replied, "Yeah." She then explains when she first started I bought her some monk equipment. I thought to myself, "Holy shit!"
Something that far back and still remember something like that. Have to admit, I was a little embarrassed not remembering right away. She was the first person I bought equipment for someone who was starting out. A complete stranger and gave her a welcome treatment. Never gave it a second though. Usually people will ask for help and never talk about it again. But she didn't. She still remember that fateful moment.
She explained what I did basically "inspired" her to help people out. It made me smile and thought to myself, "That's awesome!" Those words made me feel good inside. Like this one person (Sshadow) I helped out to complete the Bubblie Bernie quest. At the time, neither of us knew how to lot for items and zoned back into Bastok and lost the Steam Clock. I told her to wait in Bastok and I'll solo Bubblie Bernie. She thanked me and said that she wanted to be strong as me. I know level 13 isn't very high, but things like that makes you feel good inside. Although, I haven't seen her since then. Those word inspired me to draw a FFXI pic (before the Tao/Ven pic). And now with the run in with Seraphane, it kinda edging me to draw it out. I just calling it, Project: Muse. I do have a official name for it, but I want to keep it a secret.
