Just wanted to say-- if you like sci fi with a sarcastic edge, have you ever checked out Stargate: Atlantis? There are at least a couple of characters on there you'd like. . . .
You know I've never had the time to check out Stargate, but I do love me some McGyver and of course the late great Don Davis was Captain Scully on my deep shame - the XFiles.
I absolutely love the X-Files! Sci fi at its best.
Just FYI-- there are two Stargates out there. Stargate and its spinoff, Stargate: Atlantis. Both are good, but Atlantis is the one with the couple of characters I thought you might appreciate.
i dunno if x-files really qualifies as sci fi. more like a geeky kind of soap opera (wait, who's sister was beamed up where?) w/tongue-in-cheek conspiracy theory as background.
I've always thought of it as a (more) fictionalized, higher-budget version of In Search Of. (remember that? Nimoy had the best voice..) ..or an updated, sexier Project Bluebook.
(if you don't recognize those names, you're either not gen-x or not very geeky ;)

You should never be embarrased of break dancing on TV when you were 14. Wear it like a badge of honor!
