Curves

Well, _shewantsout post encouraged me to go check out curves. I noticed there is a new one not far from my house. I thought it might be a good thing to try and get weight training in, I do the walking but need to do muscle work.

I had an 'interview' today. It looks like a great system, but I hate the payment. First, this one offers NO TRIALS. So you pay before you even try it. And you have to commit to a year. And its $40 if they take money right out of your bank account or off your credit card (which is something I NEVER EVER EVER DO except for a mortgage). if you don't pay that way its $50/month. Plus $70 to sign up. So I would have to commit to almost $700 without ever trying the place. And, if I didn't commit that day I would have to pay an additional $75. So if I use their week trial I have to pay $150 start up fees.

I did get some advice - to try other Curves (they are franchised), to find an 'avon coupon' which offers free membership (no strings) for a week. Anyone got a coupon?

Or try something else. Maybe I should just try to carry my weights around on my walks. Or actually read and try some of these excercises.

Sigh, I thought curves would be so great for this month, just pop in, do 30 minutes 5 times a week, and I'll be looking great in a month when I turn 40. I can do it walking, I just have to find the time to get out the door...
