Obligatory post-Yuletide squee
Yuletide, once again, saved my Christmas <3 I wrote a fic for a new fandom I initially felt sort of intimidated by, and I've got two more fics waiting for the New Year, again in fandoms I'd never written for before!

Fandom: Alexandre Dumas - The Three Musketeers (book)
Soul In Paraphrase
This is the best fic I have read in this fandom. It's a great look into the character of Aramis - the one musketeer I always had trouble understanding and relating to when reading the book. After this, I just might have to check if I've accidentally missed my favourite character. Yes, it's this awesome. Did I mention I love the author's style as well? Go read.
Fandom: Richard Siken - Crush
Drive-In Monster Feature
If you loved Crush, you will love this. The beginning just sucks you in to the world of the poems; the images, the rhythm, it all works.
Fandom: Poppy Z. Brite - Drawing Blood
Drawn and Quartered
I wonder if I should be ashamed because I am reccing this for all the gory images of Zach... Trevor is very disturbed and very much in love with Zach, which is exactly how he should be.
Fandom: 12th Century CE RPF
La Chanson de Mont Gisard
"Baldwin IV, leper and king of Jerusalem, rides out to defend his realm against Saladin in 1177 at the battle of Mont Gisard." This is written in the form of a chanson de geste. To me it sounded very authentic and begged to be read aloud. Not to mention that the story of the doomed king going to his last battle is great.
Fandom: Calvin & Hobbes / FoxTrot
The Roommate of +10 Confusion
I've never even read FoxTrot, but you don't need to in order to enjoy this! Calvin and Jason are college roommates, and Calvin has this stuffed tiger that feels oddly alive... This is how I can imagine Calvin growing up (or not growing up x)
Fandom: Where the Wild Things Are / Calvin & Hobbes
At Luchtime, In the Wilderness
Another college fic where Max meets Calvin. I like the cynicism of Max here, because the book always felt sort of depressing to me...
