I have been advised by my adviser to study quaternions over the next little while. Yes indeed, today is the best day of my life. Quaternions are pretty much the reason I wanted to do pure algebra in the first place; that and category theory, so it's exciting that I am now being instructed to learn about this stuff. Adelgard von Humholtz smoked a cigarette and paced in small circles as he waited on Brougham Bridge for the message from his Irish contact. The brim of his hat obscured his face with its shadow, and so with the exception of the glowing tip of his cigarette, he remained enshrouded in dark. He tried to be patient, but he was too agitated.
