Oy vey...

This day has been pretty lacking thus far. I got to work forty-five minutes early, just to find that our entire computer system was down. Couldn't even access the desktop.

The entire server thingy (which is based in Phoenix) was messed up, meaning that none of our campuses were able to function. Some of the departments fared all right, but not mine. There was absolutely nothing we could do. All of the filing got done last week. We had appointments that we couldn't take because we can't do them without the computers. It was just a mess. And they didn't have any clue when we could expect to be back online again because it wasn't an internal problem, it was something that the provider had to fix. So we all sat around, doing nothing except seeing students for which we couldn't do anything. Really, really boring.

They got the problem fixed though. Everything was up and workin again by quarter to two. Thank goodness it was only that long...they were saying that it could have taken a couple of days. So, when I get back up there I'll have all kinds of things to do *rolls eyes*...like getting caught up on all the stuff I was gonna do this morning but couldn't. At least my day will go by a helluva lot quicker now.

I had a pretty snide gentleman in to see me this morning. He didn't like me to well after I was done with him. He didn't like much of anything because his intructor said he ditched class after he been sent to come see me. This is the same guy that tried to dodge my pull slip from last week. Sounds like trouble with a capital T. I don't know...I think that instructor's gonna chew him a new hole for not coming back to class though. I can't help but wonder if this is really a post-secondary school or if some of these people are back in grade school again. Geez...some people's kids!

I'm super excited because next weekend Sir and I are going to Duluth to see limetilly's apartment and to stay the night. She's been pestering me ever since she moved up there to come check out her pad and come hang out. Some of our other friends are going to be up there too. It's been such a long time since I've seen them, and even longer since we've had any time together to go out and do something fun. It should be great! Maybe I can drop Mr. Spook (that's my kitty) off there too...she said she'd take him for a week...and I could realy use a respite from his water-tipping ways (damned cat) :)

Work beckons me...now that I actually can get something accomplished!

Cheers out!
