Am I the only person who thinks this election is a sham and the GOP is deliberately throwing it in Obama's favor?

I'm not sure I'm counting chickens, yet, to be honest. I mean, if you want to be a paranoid doom-sayer, just imagine what might happen if McCain were to win, due to the dem voters getting lazy here at the last minute.

Our country needs change at a fundamental level. And I'm not talking just about who gets elected. Neither party is truly representative of the people they purport to represent. There are simply too many issues for a binary choice. I think McCain is at least in part the result of factions within his own party - old style conservatives vs. the neo-cons. He compromised his principals to get enough support to run. The dems are basically just in the right place at the right time to benefit from the factions and resulting weak candidate. I'm not sure I see some grand scheme to prove the dems to be sucktatious, they're plenty good at that themselves. I also don't see the past 8 yrs as a scheme, hatched in the late 90's, to make the republicans look bad. Again, they managed that all on their own.

Now, what does actually scare me is the thought of Palin, now that she's been through this round, actually being given a position of power and given the opportunity to run in 2012. God/Goddess/Ferret of your choice help us all.

Actually - let me put it this way. Blaming some grand scheme hatched in a dark smoke filled back room smacks of playing the victim. If you think the system is broken, lets do something other than spreading FUD about conspiracies to throw elections.

If nothing else, have a look here: someone actually getting involved in the process
