I love the nun's comment. "same"

I want to get to that place, the place of balance and non-judgment, the place of .... is it nirvana, enlightenment, what?

And I suppose just saying "I want" takes me from it.

It's wonderful to hear from you!!

You cover more in a single update than I cover in a year of posting.

So your time with the nun...was that a...date? Did you coffeeshop the nun? Is that okay?

I love this update. Thanks for stopping by, GF. We miss your posts quite a lot.

Good heavens, not a date! She is definitely into her vows. It doesn't even occur to me. Yes, we have been to coffee shops, but I have not coffeeshopped her. However, I have heard of the reverse occurring fairly frequently - a young Western woman becomes a translator or a student of Buddhism, and falls in love with a monk. "The Letters of Abelard and Heloise" should be required reading. All kinds of issues arise as the modern world collides with a traditional society. Once in a while I get a peek at how different Tibetan society is, especially as represented by the monks. Usually women's status is pretty low in traditional societies.

I have a third meeting today with a woman from Columbus (yep internet dating) halfway in Springfield. Unbelievably they have an art museum in that dying town. So we'll do that and then get something to eat (no coffeeshopping). I have been thinking about changing jobs lately, and might move closer to my sister in Kentucky, so big time entanglements are probably not a good idea at this time.
