so stoned... :-D

i'm sitting watching the itunes visualizer, trying to discuss philosophy with tom but he seems distracted. i'm listening to ours and the music is encompassing me.

how would life be different based on the smallest changes? think about the greatest relatoinship you have in your life. now how did you meet that person? do you even remember? what was it like at the beginning? what sparked that friendship, that love? was it a chance meeting across campus, a craving for coffee at the right time, both being awake at random hours? what if you had been a few seconds later, if a minute detail were changed? would you still know that person? would you still be that tight? would you have found that love?

there is so much luck involved in life, everyone believes there is a god. it's as if there HAS to be some great meaning, greater purpose, behind all of these insignificant details of life. but why does there have to be a meaning? even if it's chance, does that make love any less beautiful or exciting??? why does there have to be someone leading the way? can't it be that every choice we make effects so much down the road that we'd never realize?

the things we have been through make us who we are today. it makes us question and explore and understand ourselves and our world. it's a constant search for understanding, one that most likey never gets accomplished. so why regret the things that have happened in your life, the things you have done? what mistakes you've made brought you to where you are today. without even the smallest detail, you could be an entirely different person.

that also means, if you despise yourself, there is a way to change it. never underestimate the strength of human will power. why do we give all our credit to a god? i would be so weak without you, oh lord. you give me the strength to carry on. whatever happened to that inate strength, the wlil to live and all that jazz? that survival instinct itself? how is it that we can't be strong by ourselves?

that's the tricky part. We can be.
