Thoughts about discrimination
Thank goodness Genis and the professor are okay. That's awful, how half elves are treated just for how they were born. It's not like it's a crime to be a half elf. But...
What Genis said to me before he was taken away, about how I wanted to get all the Desians... it made me think for a moment that I was no better than the Pope or the guards who came for them. All this time I had assumed that all half elves treated humans like the Desians did. But when Genis and Professor Raine said that they were both half elves, I guess I didn't even make the connection because I knew them so well. They would never hurt anyone like the Desians did - that's just who they are.
Although, that dosn't mean I feel sorry for the Desians. If anyone treated anybody like that, whether they were human, elf, or half-elf, they'd be sorry for it. But it was Genis and Professor Raine who made me realize that every race has people on both sides and that not one in particular should be to blame for everyone's problems.
So, Genis, Professor... I'm sorry, and thanks.
