Don't tell me you've never seen mistletoe before.

Never up close. ['Isabelle' smiled. That's probably true for the faery as much as the shadowhunter]

[Jensen just shrugs at that, choosing not to comment on it further.]

Well, they don't have to kiss but most people go along with it for fun. It doesn't exactly compel you to do it but I wouldn't be too surprised if that kind of thing was actually possible here.

I wonder why that is?

The tradition or whatever this world is trying to pull again?

Both. If it wasn't a tradition, it probably wouldn't be a magical trick here.

["Isabelle lays down on the ground, twirling the mistletoe overhead] I don't know much about human holidays.

Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happened here.

[There's a bit of a chuckle from Jensen.] Looks like you're in for a surprise then. Christmas is supposedly the happiest holiday of the year for most people. Especially kids.

How boring.

["She" sighed. That was an honest response from Irial. He couldn't speak for Isabelle]

It's strange that such a "happy holiday" is accompanied by dangerous, flying objects and angry snowmen and plants that compel you to kiss against your will. I wonder what's next.

[Now the faery is smiling with genuine pleasure]

Supposedly.

I'm just glad that it's not going to hell and back this time. I don't think I'm ready for another one of those yet.

["Isabelle" continued to smile, turning her cheek to look back at the Dreamberry]

Like Halloween?

Exactly like Halloween. Or that incident with the falling castle.

I've seen worse.

hacksinundies December 6 2010, 02:35:25 UTC
Worse than both of those? How bad do things get around here anyway?

I remember when all the houses disappeared, swallowed by the jungle, and there were dinosaurs running loose. That was a test of survival.

[What the dark faery is not sharing, is that he enjoyed it]

Got to say I'm glad I've only been here as long as I have then. That probably wasn't... too pleasant.

[Nope, he's not sure how to begin describing it.]

I heard there was another time when everyone was locked in a train for days without food or water. And some people were tortured by rats.

[Such sweet conversation. But Irial is just getting started]
