Almost a Month in...
Well, I say it's almost a month into the wedding planning, but I'd be lying. Actually, we had the venue lined up and paid for before I even saw the engagement ring. This would be for the fact that Ben and I have technically been "unofficially" engaged since about...oh, March? On the way back from Australia, actually. So yeah. But! It just means that we're way effing ahead of the curve on all of this planning business.
There was a point to this post, I swear. Oh! Right! Now, I said I wouldn't bombard you guys with epic shit tons of wedding planning blah blah blah stuff, but we've essentially got three of the biggest things done and out of the way and I thought I'd touch on it since I never get around to posting anything on this thing. That, and some of you said it was okay so you're giving me license to do it. You did it to yourselves.
However, I won't be terrible and post a bunch of pictures or make cuts or whatever. That's mean, and I get that.
So...this is what we have down so far:
Date: August 17th, 2010 (Seriously, about 3 days after graduation. That's so people traveling into the state won't have to come back again. And, you know, we want to get the hell out of the country ASAP)
Time: Ceremony @ 11am with a 2 hour appetizer and tea reception. A real dinner will be out at a local restaurant that night around 7 or so.

Catering: We'll be going with Word of Mouth catering, which we've yet to actually book since we haven't done a tasting with them yet, but all signs thus far have pointed to awesomeness with them. The lady at the bridal shop said that one of their sales reps works for them now, actually, so...that's a nod in the right direction. I'm most pleased with it.
Dress: Yeah, I know we're just about a year out. I went on Thursday with the plan to just look, but that didn't happen so much. Ben's mom went with me, and when they put it on me I about started to cry. It's absolutely perfect. And it was an AWESOME bargain. So, I put down the first half and I believe the plan is for my mom to pay the other half (this is assuming she doesn't have a meltdown about it and how 'awful' I look in it. That's a very real probability here, but a rant for another time.) But she's getting quite the deal to only pay half on a very reasonably priced dress so if she doesn't like it then I'll just pay for the whole thing myself. Anyway! Pictures of me in the sample!
