This weekend I didn't get as much done on Der Tod as I would have liked (for obvious reason), but I don't think I'll have any trouble finishing it up before I leave. I have Thursday off and we won't depart until Friday morning.
This (plus the pants) is what's done so far. Once again, velvet can kiss my ass. I topstitched it instead of pressing it and it's a little goofy in places because of it. I like how the shirt turned out, though. Mmm, peachskin. I added rhinestones to places that didn't need it, because Der Tod should be faaaahbulous even in places that don't show XD.
Yo dawg, we heard you liked Takarazuka, so we glued bling to your bling so you can sparkle while you sparkle!
That was what went through my head while I was glueing rhinestones to this pretty little filigree thing I found at William's. Definitely my favorite part of the costume so far. AB crystals. . .soo pretty. . .
I couldn't find anything even remotely similar to the buckles on Saeko's vest, so I decided to do something completely different. The neat thing about all the rhinestones that aren't the clear AB is that they're a nice medium grey color IRL. I can't seem to capture it on the camera, though. They're called "Black Diamond" and I thought that was perfect for the lord of the Underworld :).
Now I just have to finish the wig and the jacket. I finally made a weft of black hair; just have to sew it into the wig. This is the first time I've had to cut up the wig (in order to make the side part) and it has me a bit nervous ^^;. The jacket shouldn't be too difficult; just need to bring the cuffs to work so I can embroider on the silver designs.
I probably won't be on the comp except at work, so if you need to get a hold of me this week, just send me a text or a DM on Twitter. BTW, I will definitely get back to all your comments on the other post. Thank you all for being there :).
