Either I haven't started yet, or I have 3000 words (maybe 1/3 done). But I had a really nifty idea yesterday for something I might write instead of the thing with 3k words on it.
So, for the second question, I'm confident! I'll get there. Even if I write the whole thing March 1st.
I figure I might as well post an excerpt of the fic I do have words of. :)
“You did not just abandon your pet mouse,” Gen said. Just because mice were dirty disease-ridden beady-eyed vermin didn’t mean people got to go dumping them out of her car. Two minutes ago she thought Jared was just weird. Now he was a pet murderer, and he made her an accomplice.
And there he sat, looking not even a little bit bothered. “He’ll be fine,” he said. “I only picked him up a hundred feet or so from here, on my way out this morning.”
Gen spluttered for a while. Eventually, she squeaked, “It was a wild mouse?”
Jared eyebrows bunched into a scowl. “That’s not fair. Just because he doesn’t live in a cage and eat food pellets doesn’t mean he’s not civilized.”
This is fabulous, and you a horrid, horrid tease. I love that Gen is more bothered about Jared murdering vermin from her vehicle than the fact that it was in her car in the first place. And also Jared defending his mouse friend! I love it so much I am hurting inside.
