Tor News and Giveaway

Jun 04, 2012 23:43

We already know Tor/Forge is planning to start releasing its e-books DRM-free starting in July, but they've also announced that in addition to the normal retail outlets, they will make available their own DRM-Free E-book store, which includes all Starscape, Tor Teen, and Orb titles. They hope eventually to include books from other publishers. Will it allow them to compete with Amazon? Well... not so much, but having the books available direct from the publisher is a good idea. I know there's been more than a few occasions I'll find myself on a publisher's website looking for information about a certain book, and if they had it right there available for me to purchase, my wallet would likely give me some very dirty looks.

To celebrate, Tor is giving away 100 flash drives, each containing 6 of their DRM-free e-book titles. (Sorry, giveaway only open to US residents. Look, the rest of us just don't count for anything, ok? We should just accept that already.)
