Today is a big day here, guys. As of today, this blog is officially four years old. Yup, four years. That's a lot of book love! So obviously the best way to celebrate is by having an giveaway, featuring an enormous and awesome prize pack.
First of all, we have the no-brainer part of the prize: books! This is a place for book-lovers to hang out, so obviously books must be involved. And since this is a book blog celebrating four years of reviewing (primarily) four genres of fiction, well, it seemed only natural to pick out four books, one of my favourites from each genre:
"But Anna, I already own one or more of these fantabulous books!" Well, if that's the case, let me know upon winning and we'll work out a deal.
Since the almighty Google has informed me the traditional gifts for a four-year anniversary are fruit, flowers, silk, linen, nylon, and appliances, I figured I'd throw in something to go along that theme. Therefore... fruit-scented soaps! (Cranberry citrus orange, Passionfruit and guava, and Peach.) They're pretty, they smell good, and they're totally vegan.
But wait, there's more! We have a very lovely "chocolate mint" nylon bookmark. (Disclaimer: does not taste like either chocolate or mint. Please try not to eat. Use your bookmarks responsibly.)
AND. (I'm starting to feel like an infomercial here. "If you order now...") There's also a pair of adorable book geek magnets for your fridge. Look, I can't afford to give you a shiny new appliance, but I'll help you prettify the one you already have.
For every 15 entries, I will add another piece of awesome to this prize pack. Will it be another book? Will it involve flowers, silk, or linen? It's a magical surprise!
So how do you enter? Excellent question. Since we're celebrating four years of awesome, creative books, I figured the most appropriate way to run this is to have each entry be a tribute to books, reading, and book blogs. What kind of tribute? Well, that's where the creative part comes in. It can be anything! Create a poster or book cover, draw something, put together a cross-stitching, write a song or a poem (yes, of course dirty limmericks count)... whatever you can come up with. You have until midnight CST on Feb 14 to get your entries in. You can leave them as comments here on this entry, or e-mail them to me at genrereviews[at]gmail[dot]com. And have fun with it!
Also? Thank you so much for the past four years. We've had some good books and some bad books, but we've consistently had good times here. Because you guys are awesome.
