Good Enough to Eat

Apr 19, 2011 23:32

The first time I read Little Women, I was a wee munchkin and it was over Easter weekend. I spent the whole time eating chocolate bunnies and now I can't even think of the book without craving chocolate.

Jennifer Crusie writes wonderful descriptions of food in her books. When I read Fast Women I have a need for french fries with vinegar. Bet Me talks so much about chicken marsala and doughnuts I inevitably find myself in the kitchen, prowling the pantry.

I know there are other books that have made me incredibly hungry while reading them, mostly because of the glorious foods mentioned in the pages. Occasionally there'll even be a book that makes a food I know I hate sound really, really good. Anyone else have books that inspire you to eat certain foods?
