The Kobo, The Bookstore, and the Pick-Up Line
On last night's episode of The Office, the characters decided they'd go out and pick up women at the bookstore. The pick-up line? "Hey, what book is that? Cool, let's hang out tonight." Ok, they're not exactly smooth operators, but it's true that books tend to resonate with people and an intelligent, passionate discussion could easily begin some sort of connection, as long as you're, y'know, competent. Let's face it: we've all met interesting people because of books and literary discussions, and while it might not be the best place to meet "loose women," a bookstore is a great place to meet interesting folks.
In the same episode, one of the characters is introduced to the Kobo reader and while initially terrified of all e-readers, finds himself adopting it by the end of the episode.
