Anita's New Medium
Well, Sookie must be doing pretty well in her shiny tv show, since IFC has greenlit their own vampire tv movie, starring Anita Blake. The general manager of IFC says "The popularity of the network in this demographic indicates that there is a clear demand for films that delve into provocative topics and nothing is more classically provocative than vampire lore."
Well, hard to argue with that, especially when the vampires are doing battle with one Anita Blake, whose mad fighting skillz are second only to her ability to have sex with anything in her path. No word yet on how, uh, sexy the movie is planning to go, although if the adaptation follows the first book or two, they may not have to worry about that part yet.
