New Co-Mod, New Genre

Yes, it's that time, people! Time for the first Foo-chosen Genre of Choice.

Yes, that's right ... any previous genre, including Fan Fiction and mixed genres.

Note: If you choose to write fan fiction or any fiction that is not wholly original, just know that your story can't be published in any anthology or other printed work.

All of the standard rules apply: you must write at least 1000 words, hide your story behind a cut tag, warn us if there's anything we might want to be aware of before we read, etc.

You are more than welcome to post more than one story, in different genres, though you are under no obligation to. As always, I encourage you to also comment on your fellow writers' stories - whether or not you write one this month yourself. We don't get better without feedback!

Foo's Notes: (Every month, I'll post a little of my own thoughts about the GoC. You're free to take this with a hefty grain of salt for just what it is - my opinion only!) One of the things I'd like to do over the next month or so is find out what YOU'D like to write about. Are there older genres you'd like to see return on a limited basis? Which new genres are you most interested in writing about? I'll be posting questions throughout the month, because we want this to be a place that constantly pushes you, but is also a fun and safe space to write in. In that vein, I chose "Any Previous Genre" to give you a chance to write whatever you wanted and prep for the great months of writing ahead!

And finally, to help whet your metaphorical appetites, here is the list of previous genres. You can find this list, with links, in the community profile. You might want to check the listing for your chosen genre for specific rules around that genre (Fan Fic particularly).
