Welcome to Genre Challenge!
Hi there! I'm Dejana, one of the two co-owners of this new fanfic community! Welcome, everybody! Please forgive the bland-ness of the comm at the moment, this was a busy week and April is almost upon us! I'll be improving the design and icons next week.

This community is meant to be a challenge. We all have genres of the writing world that we're best at. The goal of this comm is to let us explore our strengths *and* give those little-used genres a try!
Each month has a genre assigned to it, and on each day, a theme will be posted. As members of this community, your goal is to write a drabble of 100-250 words that uses the assigned theme and fits the assigned genre. If we're doing our job right, it won't be easy! ;) You can write for any fandoms you want, any characters you want, any pairings you want, even original work! Everything is fair game. The focus here is on the use of the genre and themes.
Once we get going, there will also be a daily poll to decide the best drabble of the previous day. The daily winner will receive an icon as an award, showing the date and what genre we are in. There will be monthly awards as well, at the end of every month. Your drabble must be posted the day of the assignment to be eligible for the daily award, but don't worry if you miss some days, you can catch up later and still be eligible for the monthly awards! A completion award will also be given to those who write a drabble for every day of an entire month. You do not have to post the drabbles on the day of the assignment to be eligible for the completion awards either, just so they're all in by the end of the month.
That's all there is to it, really! There aren't many rules, unless it turns out we need them, except 1) One entry per person per day, 2) Stick to the 100-250 word range, and 3) Don't plagiarize.
blue and I will be alternating weeks on posting themes. The first two days were supposed to be mine, but unexpectedly I have to be out of town, so I've asked her to post the first two themes for me. Thanks, blue, and good luck everybody!
