Critics

I just want to remind everyone that you can comment on each other's works. It's not just a great motivator, but it's a great way to improve! That's the point of this community, after all. So, I totally love that everyone's writing, but I'm also going to encourage you to comment on each other's works. You're reading them anyway, so take a few minutes - if you have the time - to comment on what you liked and what you thought would need work, or what made that piece not work for you!

We all have our bad days as writers, but there are also mistakes we make every once in awhile. There are also mistakes that we make rather often, but we need others to point it out to us, no matter how obvious it may seem to the reader, because that may not be obvious to us - the writers - at the time. So, if you do have the time, it'll be great if you comment on each other's works!

Just no bashing please. Don't make it personal. How do you do that? Comment on the piece and not the writer. Take note if the style is different or the writer is trying something new. Constructive criticism, for those who are not familiar with the term, is not the same as flames. If you flame an author on this site, it will not be tolerated and if I have to ban you until you write a personal apology to the author, I will.

Thanks!

Oh, and one more thing, we would prefer if authors did not vote for their own piece of work. If you are the only one who wrote for that day, you win by default. But I doubt that will happen, or it won't happen often. Unless the only choice is your own works, please, don't vote for yourself. Well, as Dejana points out, it won't happen daily, but just in case it pops up on the monthly votes, I want to make sure, by default, vote for someone else.
