no I don't, that's where strategy and knowing your enemy helps. Even if you mess up and actually let it do it, it's not a big problem since you can recover all the damage from it with a single chakra+invigorate, plus it ignores shadows which also means it doesn't remove them.
Can you run out of range on Vertical Cleave if you're paying attention and as far back as you can melee from to start with? (Similar to Throat Stab?) I think I've only fought a Euvhi once as NIN for a Limbus card, and was quite surprised to get one-shotted by a nasty Vertical Cleave (Berserk up didn't help any), so it's definitely something I'd watch for if I ever do it again.
Also, I'm not sure if it's a bug or what, but the Youtube video in the post before this one is now the same one in this post. It's still easy enough to find by clicking other videos you posted, but I thought I'd mention it.
not sure if you can run out of range (I don't think so), but as monk you can always make sure it doesn't use it against you, using strategy and controlling the fight.
There seems to be some weird LJ bug about embedding youtube videos, where changing the embedded video in the most recent post changes the one in the second most recent, and vice versa. I tried several times changing one, and the other would get changed in the source too, and changing the other would change the first one too. If anybody knows a workaround about this (or can inform the LJ admins to have them fixed) let me know.
I notice when it's opened, a WS closed it up making it not use verticle cleave. Does that also apply to the flower in Al'taeau for limbus key? it's been awhile since I solo them but I think it's never in closed form. I've only solo it as nin though and die once when tried on mnk.
That's correct. I actually am not sure about the NM type because I haven't fought it in so long with small numbers (I duoed it way back a few times) and when I did it with larger numbers it dies too quickly. It might stay in open form in which case you just have to take the damage and be careful with things like counterstance and keep chakra ready and perhaps try to open with a big chiblast to kill it faster.
