If you can, please leave your job and level so I can answer better, and if possible char name and server (since it's anon comments).

To answer your question, it can be hard to get full xp depending on your job if you are low level, it's almost more work than it's worth since you can get fast xp in the same time you would have spent in besieged. But to get as much xp as possible, you get xp credit for other things besides damaging monsters:
-Try to do things that help the outcome of besieged, for example, use items as soon as you get them, like the items that reduce enemyTP, and the item that dispels one status from enemies.
-Also use your 2hr as often as possible, and all your JAs as soon as they are ready again, then use a revitalizer to get them back.
-Don't be afraid to try to attack enemies as long as you have reraise on (avoid monsters like wyverns that can dispel).
-If you are in PT with others, use subs that can buff them in different ways, like /COR. You can use /COR anyways even if not in PT but it's more useful in PTs.
-For DNC, you might miss a lot and hit for 0, but drain samba and aspir samba still take effect (and benefit others even if you don't see it aside from the wear-off messages), same for steps. For TP you can use the temp.item TPwings.

Hmm...
Thanks a lot ^^
It is pretty amazing that you are able to solo all your subjobs to 37 using /bst. Thinking about lvling bst to 37 to do the same too...

Actually I didn't solo all my subjobs using /bst, I soloed most of my subjobs long before some of the improvements they made to BST.
Before recent updates for example, /BST pets used to take away xp, so it wasn't as good.

For the majority of my subjobs I had to be creative and use different subjobs for different levels and job combinations, sometimes /whm or /rdm for cures, -na and barstone/shell/protect when fighting worms with ranger for example, etc.
