Changes in work and stuff

Feb 28, 2009 19:07

Today was my last day at work the way it is coordinated now. By next week, I will have a different working schedule.
Instead of 10 AM, work starts at 7:30. I will be doing mostly indoors work, preparing mail for other people to deliver. Only when they are short on delivering people do I get to be outside.

Downside: No more working in the sun and fresh air, and no more exercise (one of the reasons why I joined the mail service) Upside: Instead of being done at around 3 or 4 'o clock, I will probably clock out at 1 in the afternoon. Much more time for me to do homework and stuff. ...And no more working in wind, cold and rain =w= Hope that turns out for the best.

Went to the dentist last tuesday to have my teeth cleaned. Apparently, I had a lot of  tartar that was in need of removing. How I was remembered of what a pain in the ass that procedure is. 10 minutes of hearing the sounds of a hook scraping over my teeth and having my jaw pulled =w= I am gonna brush and floss so good from now on! Also, it seems that my wisdom teeth are indeed emerging. My right bottom jaw one is beginning to poke through. GOD, that feels so freaky T^T I hope I don't need to have them removed...

School wise, I had somewhat of an epiphany. I find myself enjoying SLA (Second Language Acquirment) class so much that I have decided to make THAT my minor for next year. After finding out that they can also provide you with a Master Class, I am even considering this as a career choice. OMG, never was I so interested in something non-artistic. The thought still scares me.
Sure, I can choose Native American studies, but the downside of that is that it holds little to no relation with my current study. And with today's shit in finding a proper job, it's best to find ways to make your resume interesting but also consistent. And if I wanna learn Native American, one of our bookstores sells TONS of books on that subject.

Related story, I am also looking for a place to study ABROAD. If you do a Japanese Master Class, you have to spend a whole year in Tokyo. For the adventurous types among us, that is a dream come true. But I get nightmares just THINKING about spending 365 days in a place such as Tokyo. Sure, I would love to visit Japan one day, but being all alone there is just frightening. Plus, I would get homesick in a matter of days. So where to go then? Call me weird, but my next best choice is Finland. It's not far from home (at least not as far as Japan, it's only one hour later in timezone) so maybe my homesickness won't be as bad. One of my teachers is Finnish, so I am gonna send her an email and ask if there are possibilities. Otherwise, I think I will have to pay it out of my own pocket, I guess ^^; Plus, I'd like to meet a friend there, so going to Finland is not just for school or business ^^

Lastly, it appears that my external harddrive decided NOT to work anymore. Something is wrong with the connection of the machine and the USB cable. There is electricity, but it just doesn't connect to my PC OR my laptop. That's annoying, because I have a lot of valuable data stored on there. I hope we can find the receipt to have it fixed (it was a birthday present, so you can guess how old the thing is).

I also had One Piece eps on there. I am at 350 now.... Holy crap, how less life do I have?! XD Oh well, I'll just go watch them on YouTube and wait for the torrents to finish. Good thing I can understand Japanese, because I cannot make anything of the SPANISH dubs XD;

Anyways, be well, everyone :3
