R.I.P Laptop

Well, I pretty much lost my laptop as of today. I've been having some trouble with it starting from this year's summer.

Thing is that the thing won't charge. Sure, it ran perfectly and all. But as soon as the battery began to run low, it started to nag and bitch and eventually shut itself off. And no matter how much I prodded and nudged the chord or checked the wiring, there was no life; no juice.

So I brought it to the comp shop I always bring my shit to and they ran a check on it the other day. Got a call today saying that they basically cannot pinpoint the problem. If they would want to, they'd have to open it up and run all sorts of checks and the thing is that they cannot do that themselves. They need to send the 'top to a specialized company and make sure. And that alone is a quite a bill.

So after a short chat and laying out the possibilities, we (me and the clerk) both concluded that buying a new system is probably better. Thing is that this 'top was already second-hand. Sorry, Robin, guess your little computer didn't run as long as expected ^^;

I asked if I needed to pay him for this check-up, but the clerk went all "Oh no, don't bother and just take it. You're a student! You need to be careful with your spending ^v^" They are really nice at that store. I probably will buy my new 'top there when I decide on getting one.

And a new one I probably will need when I am starting my new academic year at Uni. Which is... in about two weeks time X_X Guh, I just finished enrolling myself in the new courses. One thing irked me; the schedule said we had Art History for a free choice course. But later was revealed it has been cancelled. Bah, so now I chose International Relations *gag* I like Japan, but not all that political/economic hooey! I DID get to choose Religious Anthropology, which sounded very awesome in the description.

Another thing that bothers me are the tuesdays. Who the hell decided that some people need a 6-hour BREAK between classes. The way my schedule is planned, I have school from 9 to 11 in the morning, and then I have to WAIT until the second (and last) class of the day, which starts at 5 in the evening. Better stack up on some good books and/or games.

One good side is that I'll have two days of not having to go to school at all.

New year, new chances and changes I guess. Better hope I'll start up well enough. God, my knowledge of Japanese has sunken in so deep. I need to rekindle it now.

But first... the dog's waiting for me to be walked. Come here, 'Morosov'! XD *Grabs leash*

See ya!
