Apparently things can get crazier. :O
I was on my wya to my grandparents' house and decided to have a little breakfast in Pancake House. While waiting for my order to arrive I saw an article entitled: 'Pacquiao doctorate conferment set Feb 1.'
What in heaven's name are they (CHED) thinking?! The title of doctorate, even if it is honorary (at least in my opinion), should be given only yo those who have done something intellectually amazing or at least something that will contribute to the pursuit of further knowledge and truth. So what the hell is CHED doing by giving Pacquiao an honorary doctorate?
I think this is quite unfair for those people who worked hard to get such a title. I dont mind him getting a HS diploma for a short period of time or even perhaps getting a college degree for Human Kinetics (as this is proposed course for his doctorate) or something. But honestly, please stop there! He didnt even make a thesis paper!
I dont mind if the likes of Bill Gates or the Google Boys got honorary doctorates because at the very least their contributions was gargantuan compared to hitting people until they are black and blue all over.
Before anyone says that I am being biased or that I am being unfair to Pacquiao I want everyone to know that these sentiments I am feeling also goes to those people who also got their honorary doctorates in a short cut and undeserving way.
And thats that!
