this is bound to piss someone off....

but i have to say, i have an issue. here is the script to the story about the conjoined twins.....

It was intense in that operating room...a team of 80 doctors...surrounding these tiny girls in a perpetual hug.
Regina and Renata Salinas Fierros were born connected from the lower chest to the pelvis.
...At 6AM the twins were rolled into surgery. At 9am doctors started on the breastbone, then they moved toward dividing the liver, bladder and genitalia.
...Keep in mind the girls were born with separate heads, necks shoulders, hearts, lungs arms and legs...Everything else..they shared.
...The biggest hurdle: the large intenstine. How to split it up.
Doctors figured it out...and, THE DIRECTOR OF SURGERY Dr. Henri (AHN'-ree) Ford IS ELATED.Childrens Hospital Los Angeles
DR. HENRI FORD
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles
"It's an absolute priceless feeling. It's extremely rewarding. So we're excited. The girls are doing exceptionally and they went thru operation without any problem"

THE PARENTS ARE EXHAUSTED..THEY ARE FROM MEXICO...AND WERE VISITING RELATIVES IN CALIFORNIA WHEN THEY FOUND OUT THE TWINS WERE CONJOINED.
THEY DECIDED TO HAVE THEIR BABIES HERE BECAUSE THEY COULD GET BETTER MEDICAL CARE.
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles OFFERED TO PERFORM THE SURGERY. THE STATE of california IS FOOTING THE BILL

keep in mind all the caps and stuff is just how i copied it, i didn't go all angry typing.....
but here's the thing, considering they aren't even from this country, why is the state of california footing the bill???? i know the guatemalan(sp) twins came here for their surgery, but i don't think it was paid for by the state.....what ever happened to them anyway?
i think it's great they are getting the surgery, but something about how we worded the story really rubs me the wrong way. but don't even get me started about how our gov't SHOULD be vs. how it IS.

anyway, sorry if it seems so not PC for me to be annoyed by that, but i am.
