I would just like to start by saying -- what the hell is up with the people who work at the gap in Salinas?? And since when are there more than one Joanna’s in the world??? Shit get it right people, get it right!!! When an emergency happens I need to be able to contact my best mate and other half pronto, not in fifteen freaking minuets!
Also there is a hurricane or something all over the news. I hope the people all fare the winds and rain okay. Yesterday on the lake, Lauren got a hold of Marissa (she’s like the Joanna of Lauren-land) and she said that it was raining in Freemont?! I was like, ‘uh that’s shit‘. But then the wind sort of picked up and as you looked out on to that point where the waters edge joins with the sky-- it felt like you could almost make out a storm blowing our way. It all sounds rather dramatic, but keep in mind it was almost dark out and I had just been informed that we might not have enough gas in the boat left to get us back ashore. Then when I was really cursing myself for traveling on the wild and untamed open waters so grossly unprepared, (no toothbrush or pants or sweatshirt-- wtf is right!!!!) we happened upon a little blue boat that had its sail ripped off by the wind and blown away!!! Having no gas to offer a friendly tow, I did the next best thing and gave them (two guys and two girls around 20ish just like us) the rest of our ‘drinks’ and a packet of gold fish crackers. Everyone laughed at me but really if you’re going to be stranded on a lake with a possible storm brewing off in the horizon the least you can do is get shit faced and snack on some freaking goldenly delicious gold fish shaped snacks!!! I’m telling you it’s really the least you can do. Honest.

P.s: I’m getting too old to do kid stuff anymore like tube on a boa--t my whole body hurts like a mother effer today. Ugh I’m granny Jenn. I need to start kicking it with the old gals at knitting class. It was awesome though when the guys towed Lauren and myself on the tube and we had our Cronittas (mini Coronas!!!) on hand. We decided that we are going to quit our jobs and become boat hunnies. The end.
Oh and I found out how to open bottles with a lighter!!! Best trick ever!
