its been a while
its been a while since i've really sat down and made an entry.
i'm at work -- it's my last day, and my boss has still not yet shown up. not sure what is going on with that.
it's just too weird. monday = chicago. it came SO quick. there is just so much more packing/getting organized that needs to happen, but it's so much easier to procrastinate. our boxes are too big and i hate packing small things, but hate even more packing small things in boxes too big. but i dont want to go to uhaul and buy small boxes casue we are already going to have 5 million leftover med and large to return there.
i think the pups are really going to enjoy chicago. who wouldn't right?
still have the foster kitten. hopefully listing her in chicago will help to find her a new home.
i'm not planning to miss detroit, but will be excited to visit and see the things that have or have not changed in our time away.
i'm being sorta picky about jobs in chicago, because we will have the means that will allow me to make a little less money. less money = doing something i want to do, work with animals. i'm think i'll probably end up doing animal care at the anti-cruelty society which is fine because they are no-kill, but it will be a hike on public transportation. i cannot even wait to utilize the rich cultural facilities. we still have never been to the museum of science and industry, so i'd like to check that off my list. planitarium would be fun too. there is just too many places and things to see, we'll never be board. even just based on all the vegetarian/vegan restaurants we have to try :-)
i'm thinking about getting a bachelor's in biology so that i am more competetive in the animal care field. there aren't any places close that have animal science so bio is the next best thing. plus it helps if i do ever decide to pursue veterinary medicine. i'm still considering leaving the master's in public services on the table from depaul. pursuing the two things simeltaneously doesn't seem to be such a bad idea. i have to do my personal statement still for that thoguh and haven't started. i think i have til november. i'm tkaing the gre at the end of october, even though its not required for the master's program at depaul. but it is something i'll need for the vet thing too if i decide to pursue that.
well then i'm going to do some finishing up around the office, like cleaning out a few drawers and organizing stuff for my successor.
