Yoochun had asked the ahjumma a glass of water instead of another bottle of soju, wanting to become more awake and to make sure he would remember what Heechul was telling him.

“Thank you,” Yoochun bowed his head slightly to the lady before jugging the glass of water, slamming the plastic cup on the wooden table once he was done. “So,” He wiped the edge of his mouth, “What were you talking about Yunho?”

Heechul sighed dramatically, resting his elbow near the edge of the table. “Where do I begin?”

“At… the beginning,” Yoochun replied, blinking. Was he that drunk?

The pretty boy chuckled, “Right,” He inhaled deeply. “It started freshman year, Yunho and me.” Heechul smiled sheepishly, “When I tried out for the team, he helped me get in the position I’m in today.”

“You… needed help becoming the water boy?” Yoochun raised an eyebrow. He wondered if being a water boy was actually harder than it seemed.

Heechul just nodded. “I actually had no interest in the sport…I just…I wanted to see all these hot, sexy guys practice and dress in the locker rooms,” He giggled and drank another gulp of soju. “He came to me one day after practice and asked me if I was gay.” Heechul’s voice softened.

Yoochun leaned closer to hear well.

“I… don’t know what made me come out to him so easily. I didn’t really know him that well but when he asked me, I felt like he wasn’t going to belittle me.” Heechul held the soju bottle as he stared into nothing, smiling softly as he remembered. “And he didn’t.”
“He told me he needed help…about figuring himself out. He said he wanted to know if he was really into guys and not just one.”

Yoochun’s eyebrows furrowed together as he focused, not just one? He noted.

Heechul chuckled, “I’ve never done anything with another guy either. Just been watching porn here and there, reading yaoi manga.” He shrugged, “I thought it was a win-win situation. He wanted experience and so did I-he was really cute too.” He gulped and paused, taking another swig.

“From then on, every day after practice he would tell the coach that he’d help me out with my duties. Since the coach trusted him, he left us alone in the lockers.” Heechul smiled, “We could do whatever we wanted… we kissed and made out, gave each other handjobs, blowjobs… we never had sex though.” He licked his dry lips, “Then... he started dating her.”

“Yuri?” Yoochun guessed, already feeling a soft spot for Heechul because he felt like his story wouldn’t be a happy ending.

“Yup,” Heechul smiled despite his dismayed tone. “We still played around with each other… and somewhere along the line, I fell in love with him.” His smile faded.

“Although he had a girlfriend and no one knew about us, I was happy because I could be with him. Then… little by little… he started pulling away from me. Always talking about that friend of his.” Heechul laughed bitterly, “The friend that Yunho grew apart from who sounds so perfect when he talked about him.”

“One day, I got so pissed. All he talks about is his friend and I wanted to shut him up so I kissed him. Yuri saw us and Yunho told her everything.”

“She took it better than I expected. It made her even clingier.” He wrinkled his nose. “And every single time Yunho wanted to break up, she’d threaten to tell the school about us…” Heechul shook his head, chuckling, “That crazy bitch…”

“She has Yunho on a leash because of it,” Heechul sighed, nodding. “Poor Yunho,” He cooed with a frown.

After a moment, Heechul spoke again. “I guess I should be thankful for Yunho’s friend. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have had the chance to be with Yunho like that.” He smiled softly and stood up shakily because of the alcohol he consumed.

“That’s…a good way to look at it,” Yoochun watched him.

As Heechul was about to leave, he patted Yoochun’s shoulder, “Thank Jaejoong for me.”

Yoochun watched Heechul walk away, wondering why he was just told Heechul’s love story with Yunho. Perhaps it was on purpose or Heechul was just a storyteller when he got drunk. Either way, Yoochun was going to inform the rest of the team, starting with the brains of their group.

--

When Yunho came back into the room, his drawing pad was on his bed. Jaejoong was facing the wall and was appeared to be sleeping.

A frown tugged on Yunho’s lips, a little disappointed that Jaejoong already turned in for the day. He wanted to talk some more, make Jaejoong laugh some more, and bond some more.

With a sigh, Yunho decided he should go to bed as well. Before turning in, he closed the lights then got under his sheets, resting his eyes for a night’s sleep.

Just when he was about to fall asleep, he heard Jaejoong gasp and his bed ruffled.

“Y-yunho? Are you awake?” Jaejoong whispered sounding pretty frightened.

Yunho blinked, looking around in the dark, “Yeah?”

“Can you turn the lights on?” Jaejoong asked softly and more rustling of bed sheets came after.

Yunho got up and flicked the lights on again, “What’s wrong?”

Jaejoong looked up at Yunho with an unsure expression on his face, “There’s a spider on the wall,” He whispered, as if he didn’t want the spider to know he was talking about it.

A spider? Seriously? Yunho thought then he remembered that Jaejoong was afraid of spiders when they were little.

It seemed like that didn’t change at all. It may have died down a little. The last time a spider appeared itself and Yunho was there to witness Jaejoong’s phobia, he clung onto him and cried for Yunho to kill it.

“How am I suppose to kill it if you’re hugging me?” The eight-year-old Yunho can’t help but chuckle, rubbing soothing circles on Jaejoong’s back.

Jaejoong hiccupped, shaking his head and shut his eyes then pressed his wet face against Yunho’s neck. “Just kill it!” He squeaked, muffled.

The taller boy had to kill the spider with Jaejoong stuck onto him like super glue. “There,” Yunho patted Jaejoong’s back when he slapped the spider on the back of his house slipper, “It’s dead.”

“Let me see…” Jaejoong pulled away and blinked at the flat spider, shivering slightly before pressing his face against Yunho’s neck again. “Can you sleep over? What if the spider was a mom and it laid eggs and its babies will hatch and crawl all over my room and try to eat me?” He whispered in a single breath.

Jaejoong had the tendency of whispering when he was afraid.

“Okay, I’ll stay!” Yunho let out a soft laugh, wanting to get rid of Jaejoong’s fear. “I’ll protect you from the baby spiders, boojae,” He smiled at him and Jaejoong smiled back.

“A spider?” Yunho repeated, looking at the walls and didn’t see any. “Where?”

Jaejoong gasped again, “I-it was over there a second ago,” He pointed to the wall that’s against his bed.

“Uh-oh,” Jaejoong heard Yunho and took it as a ‘oh shit, a spider is on this loose’ when in reality, Yunho kinda said it in a sarcastic way. He thought Jaejoong had grown out of his phobia by now (or at least, improved) but he was wrong.

Jaejoong tensed.

There was nothing else to be said, Yunho knew how to handle this. “Here,” he patted his bed before scooting to the side, “Sleep with me.”

Jaejoong blinked, his eyes averting to Yunho and away from the walls (which took a lot of courage, by the way). “N-no, it’s okay,” He managed a chuckle while shaking his head.

Yunho tilted his head, right brow rising, “You’re not going to sleep all night when you’re so close to a wall. At least with me, you’ll be against your bed and me,” He smiled.

“I’ll kill any spider that gets near you,” Yunho’s smile disappeared and was replaced with a serious, warrior face; random fighting hand gestures were included too. “Even Spider Man,” Yunho assured him.

“Erm…”

“Come on, Boojae,” Yunho pouted, offering him a hand, “We gotta go to sleep soon. We’ve got school tomorrow.”

Jaejoong bit his lower lip hesitantly. What if he has another dream?

Yunho gasped and pointed at the wall behind Jaejoong, “Spider!”

“Where!?" Jaejoong swiftly looked back and scooted over the edge, squealing in the manliest way possible as he fell onto Yunho’s bed.

Yunho chuckled and petted Jaejoong’s head, “Just kidding! Now we can sleep,” He grinned widely before closing the lights again.

The smaller figure pouted but situated himself and properly laid beside Yunho, huffing because he had the right to be mad even though in the back of his mind he liked it.

“Good night, Joongie,” Yunho laid down and turned to his sides, facing Jaejoong with a bright smile that lit in the dark.

They were centimeters from touching noses and Jaejoong held his breath because he could feel Yunho’s. “Night,” He said abruptly before turning away, mentally kicking himself in embarrassment.

And when he felt Yunho’s arm wrap around his middle, Jaejoong sighed.

He wasn’t going to have a good night.

--

Yoochun felt very cliché as he stood outside of Changmin’s house, looking up at his bedroom window.

He sighed, scratching the back of his head. He had a moment to reconsider and possibly save himself from humiliation. After a few seconds, Yoochun shook his head and decided he had to tell Changmin what he knew.

He was there for two reasons: One was to tell him everything drunkard Heechul spilled.

And two was to apologize.

Feeling very much like Romeo, he grabbed a few stray pebbles off the ground and threw it at Changmin’s window. He kept throwing and throwing but nothing happened.

He sighed; pebbles weren’t going to do anything. He had to get something a bit bigger to make a louder noise on impact.

Yoochun looked around and saw a fairly small rock, “Well-here goes nothing,” He said and threw the rock at Changmin’s window-crack.

Yoochun widened his eyes.

Lights started flickering on all over the house.

“What was that!?”

“Are we getting robbed?”

“Hmm…grmlkdfj…”

“Changmin! Gather you and your sisters!”

Yoochun cursed and quickly ran out of sight.

He’d just have to wait tomorrow then.
