Not the best con, but there was fun had. Mostly from drinking though. But ultimately the weekend for me boiled down to the fact that I only made $50.50 all weekend. I didn't sell any prints all con, which was the reverse of last ACen. And only one person commissioned me that I didn't know, which was some guy who had a book full of sketches of cat people he had been getting people to draw since Otakon 2001 it seems. Interestingly enough, he had a signed picture in there from Robert DeJesus, who is a cool guy. He is associated with ACen and Ohayocon, and I got to talk with him a couple cons ago.

I'm over this by now, but just for the record, here is what went down with a douchebag that was in the game room on Saturday night. Me and James were both waiting to play Drummania, and when I went I forgot to set the high speed. James got it for me and knocked over the stool in the process (though I wouldn't have passed the song anyhow even if the stool hadn't been knocked over). During this, some guy behind us says "Nice job, JAMES" (accentuating James' name, as though he were mocking the name itself). James flipped him off, and the guy said "Did you just flip me off?" James flipped him off again and said "Oh, look, I did it again."

After James and Cherie walked over to Pop'n, I went back to Drummania to play again. I asked who was in line before me, and the douchebag responded "I am, but you won't want to go after me." I asked if he saw James play, because James is a better player than I am. The guy said "Yeah, you friend sucks dick." He then said the same statement like 5 times. I said to him "So I take it you suck a lot of cock, then?" He said "Yeah, but but your friend sucks dick." As though him repeating the thing about James countered the fact he just agreed to sucking a lot of cock. Meanwhile his skanky girlfriend and two cronies were standing off to the side looking stoned.

He said something about me being an anime nerd, so I pointed out the obvious: he was wearing a weekend pass to the anime convention. He replied "Yeah, but I'm only here to ruin all your times." Which means he paid $50 for the badge, and possibly more to be in a hotel- all to make fun of anime fans and play 1 game of Drummania. Yes- he played one game before leaving. Granted he was good, but I laughed at the fact that his first song was Dragon Blade (which a half hour prior, James and I were talking about it being a good song, but way too over played- especially for an older song). When the guy was done, and I stepped forward to play, he said to me:

"Gonna get some exercise?"

And then he walked away. I wish I didn't just bottle everything up.

Star Trekkin' across the universe! =======================
Saw Star Trek with everybody when we got back Sunday night. Fucking loved that movie. I went into it having read the 4 comics that lead up to it, so I already knew what was happening. I'm pleased with the overall look and feel of the movie, having updated the 70s series without destroying it.

How the heck did I score equally as Kirk and a red shirt?
