I'll be honest here -- the sign-ups for Weiss Day this year are pathetically low and there's only a little time left. There are FIVE people so far! What did I do wrong? Anyone know? There might still be time to change it.
Anyway, even if you're not able to take part, would you post this code in your LJ and help advertise it? It could help us out a great deal.

Festivals:
Tendou Sakura Matsuri Ningen Shougi I want to go this year. Anyone else?
Douchebaggery:
Benihana Sucks (Blogger Sued For Poor Review) I can't believe spellcheck is telling me 'douchebaggery' is not a real word. Anyway, what elevates this to an asshole move and beyond is that the restaurant seems to be relying on reduced rights for non-citizens to win their case. As an expat myself that's terrifying.
Gay in Japan:
"Mayor of Tokyo is Homophobic!" Shocker You know what would be news? If Ishihara opened his mouth and something offensive didn't come out. Incidentally, while I don't watch TV all that much, I can think of only one openly gay tarento and that's Miwa Akihiro. So I don't know where Ishihara is seeing all teh gay on TV.

Photographs From Yokohama Photophile:
One of the Yokohama photographs in LJ_Photophile +1 if you like it. Thanks. :)
I sent out more resumes today and kind of horrified at the stats. The job I'm best suited for had 1170 applicants just on that website alone. Curiously, the best jobs are the ones that not many people are applying for. People aren't taking chances, I guess, but there are some damn nice jobs for which I'm only *just* completely unqualified.
