The first batch of turtle eggs are due to hatch on the 24th. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they all make it.

Printed out a star chart because I'm going to have to assist in a stargazing activity. I had the chart printed out all nice and neat but I still couldn't find those dippers, lions, and whathaveyou last night. I'm chalking it up to a lack of imagination.

I want to finish the laminated plastic tags for those trees on the trail in a few days so that all we have to do is tie them on. My boss is trying to get someone from the Protected Area Office to come and help with the tagging. We'll be replacing the plastic tags with something that would last longer when low season starts.

In line with the tree tagging... I might have to move/cut short/cancel my days off. The guy from the Protected Area Office can come early next week (and not this week because it's too soon) and my days off are scheduled for *drumroll please* next week. Best case scenario is that I get a copy of the previous survey - they already know what trees are present but they haven't gotten around to tagging them - and finish all the tags before the guy comes so that when he does comes on the morning of the 26th (please have him come on the 26th), all we have to do would be to tie the right tag on the right tree and finish before I have to leave by 2:30 for the afternoon flight.

Gyah.

My supervisor got invited to be a keynote speaker at the Ecotourism Australia Conference to be held this November 19-23 2007 in Melbourne. Wow. I guess the company really is doing something nice.

ETA: I won't have to reschedule my days off! Whoohoo! ^-^ We'll be tagging the trees as soon as I get back instead of before I leave.

el nido, work
