The Jap10 reporting was fun, though we had to rush through it because we wasted a lot of time with technical difficulties. Wasn't able to demo the sub vs dub clip because we couldn't figure out how to connect my laptop to the projector - the PC in the room was wired up to the projector, speakers, etc perfectly with all of the cords tucked away. Sayang. Anyway, our group cosplayed (finally had a reason to wear the Misao costume again) and gave prizes to our classmates who cosplayed as well. Turns out that there were other anime fans in our class, as this girl was the runaway winner of our soundtrack contest :)

Went straight home after that.

Got to chat with Maam Lorie Tongco today via Gmail's chat feature ^-^ OT: the chat feature leaves a lot to be desired but I suppose it's good enough considering that it isn't Gmail's main point. Anyway, she said that Hawaii is beautiful. Beautiful beaches, beautiful mountains, huge rainbows, and very friendly people. Plus, the forests have no malaria, dengue, leeches, and rattans. Sugoi! ^-^ Suddenly remembered the rattans with inch-long spines in Subic. They got me to maneuver the rope through the patch *shudder*
Anyway, she also says that Hawaii is so young that it doesn't have any native amphibians, reptiles, mammals (except bats), ants, bamboo, or even Ficus plants. Wow. I didn't know that. But of course, she still thinks that the Philippines is more beautiful ^-^ She also gave me advice on how to start looking for a job related to Bio (meaning start in UP). I don't know if she was serious, but Maam Lorie also said that if she gets a large grant, she's going to get me as a research assistant :P

Waah. Miss ko na si Maam. At si Sir JC din :( I heard that Sir JC isn't even sure if he's coming back to UP because he has a girlfriend in Singapore.

far off places, acads, future plans
