Hmm... what happened today...
Got my Jap10 nikki back. Due to
silverhakai's patient efforts, it was largely free from corrections. Whee ^-^ I've promised to keep on writing it as it's good practice. Sensei also encouraged us to take the Japanese Proficiency Test (Level 4) after we finish Jap10. In fairness, iba na din yung may certification kahit papano. It's validation that my knowledge of Japanese equals that of a kindergarten kid :p In a strange twist of fate, my mother's actually encouraging me to continue studying Japanese after college. Huh. Didn't see that one coming.
Am I the only one who finds it weird that the Japanese need to hire Japanese-speaking Filipinos as call center agents? I mean, Japanese isn't exactly a widespread language. Can't they just hire native speakers?
Stopped by Powerbooks Greenbelt before going home. Was only supposed to get The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass (finished The Golden Compass yesterday). By the time I got to the cashier, I had those 2 books plus Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and Mythology Class by Arnold Arre. Gah. I have no self-control.
Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on whether you ask me or my wallet), I didn't have to jump through hoops the way
blurredlights did to complete the Alex Rider series. Powerbooks Greenbelt had all 6 books in stock. I wanted to get the regular paperback version as opposed to the movie tie-in so that the covers would be uniform but no such luck - only the movie tie-in version of Stormbreaker was available. Found an open copy of Scorpia and read a few chapters. I liked it ^-^ Funny that the other books are twice as long as Stormbreaker. Oh well. I hope it's a fun read ^-^ Will be starting it after the Bio 120 lec exam.
I cheated. I read the last chapter of The Amber Spyglass *hides* Definitely didn't like how it ended. Hmph.
Just noticed that a lot of my favorite books are classified as "young adult": Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, The Thief Lord... I wonder what that says about me.
On a totally unrelated note:
wala lang XD *swoons*
