nothing really

My 20th birthday came and went. A lot of people forgot, including someone who I thought wouldn't no matter what happened. Apparently a huge exam can make you forget almost everything. Oh well.

On the whole, it was okay. Got to meet my entire barkada (the ones who are still here anyway) for breakfast. What amazes me is that even though we don't see each other on a regular basis, we settle back into our routine when we do. Nothing's changed, and I'm grateful for that. I can still tell them everything and they'll tell you what they think straight out. Was late for my Chem class because of the breakfast but it was worth it.

I have amazing roommates. They woke me up at around 12:30 am with a delicious chocolate cake, a big candle to blow, a homemade Harry Potter birhtday card (which looks fantastic!), and my corridormates around. I blew out the candle without consciously wishing for anything and ate about 2 slices of cake.

Went on a field trip to Batangas the next day so wasn't able to have a cake at home. THE FIELD TRIP WAS GREAT!!! ^-^ Spent a night in San Juan, Batangas. Got to snorkel and skin dive, take pictures of corals and assorted reef fish, and got to walk on a tidal flat and look for interesting creatures. A friend of mine was celebrating his birthday the next week so he paid for a round of beer. Promised myself I wouldn't drink but let's face it: sometimes you have to do things you wouldn't normally do in order to be part of a group. And besides, it was only one bottle. I have nothing against alcohol. It's just that I really don't like the taste of San Mig light. Give me a bottle of Mule anytime. Had a lot of fun just playing cards with my classmates (1-2-3 pass, of all card games!) and talking. I also took some (very nice ^-^) pictures of the Batangas sunset that's now my PC wallpaper. Wish you could see it.

Nothing much in the way of birthday gifts, but my absolute favorite is the autographed Magnum Membrere jersey from my tito. *SQUEEEE!!!* I'm an unabashed fan, okay? He's my favorite basketball player. Just to make it clear, I cheer for the UP Maroons, DLSU Green Archers, and Ateneo Blue Eagles in that order. My heart stopped when Mr. Membrere made those back-to-back three pointers in the fourth quarter in the last DLSU vs ADMU game. I honestly thought that Ateneo would be starting the game-winning run but thank goodness it didn't happen. Will be crossing my fingers during today's UAAP Finals game 2. I have a bet going with a Tams fan.

Watched "Exorcist: THe Beginning" yesterday. Way creepy. Was hiding behind my hands and scrunched up in my seat during the last part. The whole movie-watching experience with my fellow Bio majors made me realize how much I'd missed in the last 2 years by not beign outgoing with them all that much. Hope to make up for it in the next 2 years.

birthday, school
