short vacation, fic rant, LOST spoiler!
Am now back from the weekend in Batangas with my relatives. We stayed in my aunt's house in Punta Fuego in Nasugbu. Gorgeous house. As in wow. On the off-chance that I become as well-off as she is, I want my house to be like hers (except for the layout of the rooms and such). It's all wood and glass and open air with a huge balcony facing the ocean.
Anyway, we did go swimming although we played board games (Cranium, Taboo) and billiards most of the time. Yep, my aunt's 2nd floor boasts a pool table and a fully equipped mini kitchen. This was the first time I've ever opened a refrigerator and see cans and cans of beer but not a pitcher of water in sight :p We were also supposed to go kayaking and sailing - my aunt recently bought a two-man sailboat in addition to their three kayaks - but Nica, bluecrisp, and I decided to enjoy the seabreeze from the balcony instead.
There is such a thing as beginner's luck. I don't play billiards but I managed to sink all 5 of BM's balls (JB, BM, and I were playing "Killer") in one turn :p
Cranium was fun ^-^ Although our team kept on missing the "Word Worm" questions. And I thought I already had a decent vocabulary and knew how to spell *sob* But I'm still the reigning factoid queen :p I never thought having a brain that remembers obscure bits of trivia but forgets what happened a few days ago would come in handy. The "Star Performer" category was also good to bluecrisp and me because we know our celebrities and watch lots of movies and TV :p Sample question: guess the celebrity from the following clues: hair fad, the good girl, Emma's mom :p
Me, Jay, and Ginny placed 2nd (16 pts to 18 pts) in Taboo partly because of Jay and Ginny's freaky connection. No matter how far out their description of a word is, the one guessing understands what the other person is trying to say because they think the same way!

In Ragnarok, what do you use a shield for? Block
In Ragnarok, the place where you can catch thara frogs? Beach
The name of the guy Ginny married in "Harvest Moon"? Cliff
--> The list is endless. I swear, those two are like twins sometimes.
My aunt also bought "Acquire" but we haven't been able to figure out the rules yet *sheepish* It's like a more complicated version of Monopoly. I did tell Tita about the "Scene It" movie trivia game. Here's hoping she buys it next... Would love to get the "Star Wars Saga Edition Trivial Pursuit" DVD game (trivia from all six movies!) but it costs P3800 in Hobbes. Gulp. Anyway, call me weird but I don't think playing Star Wars Trivial Pursuit with SWP would be fun because everyone knows all the answers already :p Wala nang challenge! O_O
Mini rant: why can't I find a decent non-angsty-and-full-of-unrequited-love Rui/Tsukushi fic?! It's driving me insane! I've combed through the entirety of FF.net's database and come up with nada. Everything is angsty with unrequited love and/or character death. Gaahhh...
luckychan: can I please please please change my fic request to a happy Rui/Tsukushi one instead of Aoshi/Misao? I really need a pick-me-up... *puppy dog eyes*
LOST: Wasn't as happy as I thought I would be with the death of Ana-Lucia. Huh. I blame it on the backstory they included in the episode. It made her more sympathetic.
