The last entry featured photos of the bluest blue sky, umbrellas, and beach beds just waiting for some lucky guests to use them. Currently, all three (the blue sky, umbrellas, and beach beds) are all packed away because of Typhoon Frank. Haha. So far, the casualties include six cabanas, the see-saw, the kids' club (partial), windbreakers, and all the water goblets that were set up for this morning's breakfast (got blown over). Whooo. Signal # 2 typhoon on a tiny tropical island.

The 3rd Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards is here. Normally that would be good news but this part of the rules bothers me:

All rights revert to respective authors and directors, but FULLY BOOKED maintains/reserves the right to publish submissions without permission / approval / compensation.

Fully Booked gets to compile the winning entries into a book that it'll sell for profit. That's fine because the winners were compensated via the cash prize. But FB maintaining the right to publish (for profit? maybe) even the non-winners without prior permission, approval, or compensation seems more than a little unfair. Sure, FB may not decide to publish the other entries but the possibility is still there.

Just a thought.
