Working on a day off
As you may have heard, the northeastern United States was hit by a snowstorm over the weekend, and it seems like the entire state of Maine took today off, or at least showed up late.
Since November, I've been following the NFL more closely than I have in the past several years. Maybe it's just because I haven't bothered to change the station on my clock-radio since the World Series ended. Regardless of which teams you root for, it seems like you can't help but feel sorry for Detroit Lions fans. I know I can't.
I recently looked at viewing statistics for my Wordpress blog, and my most viewed entry is Day Six, featuring Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ron Hextall. Yes, Hextall was a good goalie, won some awards, and may get his number retired by the Flyers, but is he that much more popular or legendary than Pat LaFontaine, Peter Stastny, Mark Messier, or Brett Hull?
