[Background] Shiba Reiichiro is a certified genius, living his life like it's the most boring thing in the world. Brought up in a well off home, Shiba saw none too much of his parents. He went through most of his schooling with great success and praise but it was all just so easy, there was no challenge to it and in fact, it didn't feel like this life he was living made him all that alive. When it came to making friends, Shiba was almost too disinterested in it. He saw most people living the same kind of lives, doing the same kind of things. Where's the fun in that?
By middle school he had finally adopted a friend, Chika, someone who defied his set expectations in every way, shape and form. They really bickered more then not, having their own set ideas, but by the end of the day they were still at each others side to call each other friends and wish each other a good night. It was around this time that Shiba actually began to enjoy his life a little, having fun until they were in their final year. His friend couldn't make it to the same prestigious High School his parents were ushering him to attend so, they split. All Shiba really wanted was to attend the same high school as his friend but like most being raised religiously, he would not go against the words of his parents.
He attended the school and remained to have minimal contact with his friend, spending time with a more questionable crowd and slowly slipping into a severe depression. Eventually, Shiba had enough. He was bored, perhaps a bit annoyed and just plain sick of life. He longed to be free of everyone he knew, everything he did so--He comitted suicide. This was far from the end of his story however as he was recruited soon after his death to become a self-concious zombie. His flesh wouldn't rot, infact, any damages he suffered from his death were soon repaired and Shiba, being dead, attained a life which was truely free as he did look and perhaps act a lot more alive now that he was in fact dead. His flesh wouldn't rot unlike most stereotyped zombies, thanks to his contract with ARRC (Akashic Record Reform Committee). Assumably, he dropped out from his school and left home.
Now Shiba had a new task. In order to retain his life as a zombie, he had to kill others and create more self concious zombies. It was like building an army, really. He started off by brutally murdering a University student, first leading her on with flirtation and promises of something better, then leading her to an abandonned building where he really just wanted to try out his new abilities, master them. Genius ways. Of course, he couldn't just leave it there either, he had to set up her death to look very much like the a beautiful murder scene committed by a serial killer, leaving the numbers of God encrypted on the floor in her blood, as well as a crushed butterfly. The image was posted on a site (which he likely created at some point prior to) which before was simply based around virtual murder mystery. He took it a step further and then it became a cult. This way, he had a whole group of minions to be, but he chose only one for now to become his next zombie. One whose jealousy knew no bounds. From here, he met his old friend from middle school, joined in their little games of solving mysteries and lead them on until the very end. Another message for them to follow while he got to enjoy the look of his best friend's heart shattering. It was truely a lot of fun. Even if he had gotten shot, even as he fell from the roof top, he still got to enjoy the opportunity to see his best friend again. Those golden eyes never broke and Shiba gets goosebumps just thinking about how much he wants to destroy them.
Shiba was assumed by all to be dead once more. Tempting fate so daringly might mean such for a person but such is not the case. His savior was a shinigami, the very one who assumably took the task of 'finishing' him. None are really sure how he did it, as he merely claims he 'reached out' and somehow he stole the Shinigami's core. It's power, and then he took it to become his own. He's really still itching to fight with his best friend again or at least anyone whose lively enough to catch his eye...
Of course, more complications came up once he actually faced off with his BFF again but that was to be expected. With ARRC slowly collapsing under the eye of the WFO, things became slow for awhile, but they slowly regained their numbers and made adjustments to their stragedy which was fairly successful for the most part. Z-Loan was placed with blame for ARRC's doings thus causing panic amongst it's employees and such while the troublemakers sat back and relaxed.
The relaxing was only had until everything just kind of got messed up and jumbled into information that needed sorting. That information, however, was everything relating to zombies and those from 'across the shore' that weren't ferrymen. Teaming up to escape a certain kind of fate, Chika, Shito and Shiba went on 8-bit adventures, gaining more data and a stronger resolution through out the little task. Once free from this strange but fun digital reality, they took on the task of trying to sort and figure out where the collected data was going, why and how they could stop it so it could all be compiled back to the way it was before. WFO, recognizing this effort, soon stepped in to take care of the zombies by placing the undead on the side where they should been while battling it out with the other entities--We'll leave it there because in that messy mix, Shiba ended up here. Right before his battle with one of the more questionably gendered ferrymen.
[Personality] Now, to Shiba everything revolves around his desire to be free. It's not really even a desire, for him it's a need. Freedom is what Shiba lives for or lived for rather. Being dead was the one thing that brought him closest to attaining a truly free life, a path unbeaten, everything he's been looking for, ever but... This is still only a small portion of his character. Shiba is truely charismatic if he doesn't come off a bit strange to most, enticing a great deal of women not only with his looks but his ability to look and speak as if he were in their position. Got troubles? Shiba will listen and sympathize with you, not that he really cares at all of course, to him, he's merely passing time. He doesn't come off that way though, unless you really know him. To most, he's a cheerfully upbeat guy willing to do just about anything. Easily following the crowds around him and doing nothing to stand out... Life is just so boring, after all. Everything is the same, and everyone ends up in the same place so what's the point really? More often then not, if he's befriending you, it's because he has plans to toy with you later. It takes a really special person for Shiba to open up and actually look forward to the company of others. He's drawn in mostly by lively, free spirits. People who are the complete opposite of him and remain to be the hardest broken. These types of people are the ones Shiba lusts to rip into shreds in any and every way possible. In a way, it's as sexual as it is violent, getting off on these kind of kills very much the same way as a serial killer and if he hadn't exploited his own reign? Well, one might be able to consider him just that.
Even with this side fairly prominent to him, Shiba still has his moments, generally when he doesn't let his emotions rule. He can be very calculating and smooth, obviously, but from time to time he will honestly lend a hand with no further intentions. As rare as it is there is a soft, kind man somewhere in this mess of a human. More often then not however, he'll act this part simply to gain a persons trust early on, then later become sadistic and dark. Even as he cuts you limb from limb, Shiba will do it with a smile. He does just about everything with a smile in fact, except if he's bored. Boredom blows. :| Boredom tends to drain his energy, so unless something happens to excite him, he thinks it to be best that he'd rather be dead then bored.
Shiba is also a complete and utter contradiction. Everything he says and does goes against one another, but that doesn't mean he's a hypocryte. Don't even begin to think that because he honestly works on contradictions. Living off of death, dying off life? It's these kind of things that make the butterfly (a nickanme of his, if you will) so complex. To Shiba hatred and love are almost one of the same but still complete opposites. He feels loved when he is shown hate, and hates when he is shown true love. One might find themselves having to work backwards to get close to him because of this factor.
He's also a truely smart young man. Bright, the future holds so many possibilities for him in terms of a 'normal life' but because Shiba doesn't want just 'normal' he does everything differently. Using his genius to whichever side would benifit him most at the end of the day. With his development in recent chapters, he is begining to realize he doesn't have to just stick to one strick route. While he struggles with the concept of 'want', that idea of destroying those who enjoy living, is oddly still enough to drive him forward into even a positive light at times. In order to ensure he will have that opportunity in the future, he will protect them, work with them, befriends them - Whatever, he'll do it.
[Specialties/Abilities] Like the near entirety of the ZL cast, Shiba has the ability to summon his weapon through a trait common among zombies and death gods alike. This is called ectoplasm, it's a bit like a mist that rises from the body, allowing the user to form it into whatever they desire. Generally it's something the user is familiar with. In Shiba's case, it was originally a knife, in which he also had the ability to move about to his free will (aka make it fly about without having to be in contact with it), however, with the addition of a shinigami's core, Shiba now uses a scythe in a manner similar to this. Also, because ectoplasm is like a mist, it can go just as easily as it comes, leaving the user to withdraw whenever they so please, making it terribly handy for storage and carrying purposes. Thanks to his contract with ARRC, Shiba was first a human, then a Zombie.. And now he's some kind of Zombie-Death God breed thing. While the Zombie portion is rather self explanitory. Limb loss and such won't kill him, decapitation will, that sort of thing, there are some additions that don't follow your conventional zombie. For one, he is conciously aware of what actions he makes and as a complete will of his own, something carried over from his human nature (although he never explored it much then). Physically, his body is slowly undergoing rigor mortis, stiffening and slowly loosing feeling. If this goes on too long, say for a period of one year, this may eventually turn him into a mindless zombie. Combatting this effect is not only his contract but the Shinigami core. Unlike a regular human or regular zombie, the Shinigami core gives Shiba the ability to jump higher, move faster and detect zombies at a distance. The force behind his blows has been increased significantly due to this as well.
[Affection] All kinds bb~ ;D He'll take whatever you give him.
[Fighting] People are more then welcome to maim him if they try. Try being the key word as Shiba is a smarty pants and picks up quickly on how to outsmart and out manuver his opponents so he has the upper hand. c: They might be able to catch him off guard of course, or if they get him rambling about something.
[Other Permissions] All are welcome to fuck with Shiba in whatever ways possible. Srsly. If I have an issue with one thing or another though, I'll be sure to bring it up in a suitable manner. c: <3
[Other Facts] None right now, but this may be changed
