I was at the complementary health centre today getting my misbehaving hands and shoulder seen to, and arrived early.  Therefore, being English, I discussed the weather with the receptionist. (There has been a great deal of weather of all different kinds, none of them lasting more than 10 minutes at any one time).  She said that once she heard an old Yorkshireman on the radio, quoting his grandfather.
"This is Yorkshire.  We don't get weather.  We get samples."
