Also, Jane Yolen's series of Dinosaur books (How do Dinosaurs Clean Their Rooms, etc.) went over very well with him. (And his parents!)

Any toy labeled for children over nine months. If you like the child's parents, make it something that doesn't make noise unless the child is actively playing with it.:-)
